Information Management

In today's world of information and knowledge it becomes difficult to manage the flood of digital information. AS I was dwelling through this I happened to read some excellent stuff on this shared by Michael Sampson in his blog Seven Things. I have already started implementing the first hint through this article. As I apply all the seven of Micheal's hints will keep sharing my experience in this article. Hope in the mean time I invent a few techniques myself, but before that let me check it for myself how these seven things work for me...rather how I make them work.By now after attending various training programs and reading books on various tools and concepts I have come to this belief that it all works, it doesn't work by itself. It works only when I make it work.

How did I came across Micheal's Seven Things?

Its an interesting story(One hint..."build stories on your information, become a story teller"). I was going through Susan's write-up of a Mission Control Workshop , Mission Control is a training program for productivity improvement and stress management. I found Susan's write-up very interesting and informative, but then I had no information management techniques with me and it became difficult for me to go back to that article again. My usual way was to put the keywords in Google and search again( it works but a very adhoc method...you need to remember lot and search a lot...) . As I a was searching Susan's article I happen to find Micheal through his wonderful write-up on " What is Mission Control, and it is worth it ...". And then on it has been a AliBaba's cave for me. I have got access to many things from this cave. Writing a daily blog is just one of the many. Have you started...oh trying is it?...Don't try...Just do it.

Sharing blogs :

"If you get it, you share it". This phrase works for me. When ever I get something..."GET" something I share it. Sharing gives power. Sharing without expectation gives great power. I shared the "Information Management" concept with many of my friends and the experience was fantastic. My brother Guru already started creating his own blog on Environ( Environ is a an Architectural firm owned by Guru , Arvind and Ganesh). Another example where I got immediate response was from my friend Shashank who declared(declaration is powerful) that he will create his blog the same day. I know this will definitely help me be connected with my friends and get more relevant information also.

Thanks for sharing the links to "Mission Control", it's been helpful to me in formulating my own thoughts on time management.
